A musical expression with an open scope for variety where Peruvian, Latin American, Jazz, Classical and Improvisation trends converge to create exciting rhythms and textures.
José Luis is both Performer and Composer with classical piano training and a large experience on Peruvian and some Latin American and World folk traditions.
His compositions, based on peruvian styles from Coast, Andes and Amazonas, nourish from Classical, Jazz and music from other parts of the globe. Styles like bossanova, baiao, chorinho, vals joropo and other latinamerican sounds are part of this project. Jose Luis explores the improvisation language not only through pre established tunes but also as the spontaneous musical creation achieved “in situ”.
